SMS Consent & Opt-In Policy
This page documents how VantaShift collects consent for automated scheduling text messages, for carrier compliance review and for our users.
Who receives VantaShift texts
VantaShift sends automated scheduling texts to restaurant employees whose workplace uses the VantaShift scheduling app. Messages cover weekly availability requests, published schedules, and shift-change notifications — typically 2–4 messages per employee per week.
How consent is collected
Employees are enrolled by their restaurant manager through the VantaShift app, and only after the employee gives the manager express consent to receive automated scheduling texts. When a manager adds an employee's phone number, the app presents a consent toggle that is off by default and never pre-checked, with this exact language:
"This employee agrees to receive automated scheduling texts from VantaShift."
Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
Consent is recorded per employee in our database. The first message each enrolled employee receives identifies VantaShift, states message frequency and rates, and provides STOP/HELP instructions:
"VantaShift: you're set up for scheduling texts for [Restaurant Name]. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."
Opting out
Replying STOP to any message immediately halts all VantaShift texts to that number. The opt-out is enforced at the database level: it cannot be undone by a manager or by VantaShift staff from the app. Messaging can only be restored by the employee texting START.
Replying HELP returns support information. Employees can also contact support@vantashift.app with any questions.
